Mum's Birthday

It was Mum's Birthday so she made cakes to take them into work with her...i found this a little confusing...surley it should be the other way round. I guess its similar to taking lolly pops into primary school when its your birthday.....nothing like a brew and a cake though!

Jeeeez where can you walk your dog these days without being followed by some poncey middle aged man telling you your on a nature reserve...Fair enough maybe i did nip through a fence or two but there was no signage saying it was SPECIAL land not to be walked on. Blooody Wierdo!
Shall not be going there again....Got a picture whilst i was up there shall post it on here.

This Picture was taken on my driveway! Got home one day and there they were, im guessing some little boy got bored with them and decided to see how they weathered? Still...it was a bizarre thing to spot haha!
(The guy on the left has a really pained expression too) CHILLY?

Origamic Architecture! So Effective...painstaking though.

Inspiration

...
I've not been up to speed lately, so yesterday and today ive organised my research into sensible piles and i feel im getting somewhere.
Read through my proposals and i have already drifted away from my origional plan on one of them.
The Process and aim is similar but the context i chose hasnt worked out.
Poems are not really a great starting point for my Playing with paper installation.
After group crit other people (tank you guys) have pointed me in the direction o making up my narrative as i go along.
Going to write up some more ideas and then just going to get on with MAKING instead of thinking about making.
Right...going to get on with it!

Actually getting myself organised

First Blog Entry...PRESSURE

Been thinking about a few ideas.
* Making note books
* Making a series of collectables, stickers or badges
* Novelty things like decorated lampshades
* "Make your own sets"...packs containing things to make something
* Making cards, maybe christmas cards

I really like how crafty this project could be, makign things for commercial purpose is quite exciting, its good to know that people are going to be interested in pruchasing something which you design. Its like a test to see how creative you can be ,,,yet still keep it practical and usuable for the general public.
Been on the drawing and image making website and found the FA2004 bank of good websites and found some really great stuff. Particularly like this work http://www.mdd.dk/dd_designers_projects.asp?PK_project=927&PK_profile=18143
It really contemporary and you could really imagine yourself buying it yet its still Art with purpose.
So yeah, going to continue with the research and try to think outside the box a little, before i get too excited and make something completly obvious.
Toodle oooo
